It sounds like you really like the type of volunteering you're doing, regardless of the free ski ticket. And it also sounds like this cause has a clear target and it is done under certain rules. As I was writing the article my thoughts were going towards volunteering in underdeveloped countries. There are a lot of volunteering agencies that exploit this whole "saviour" feeling to bring as many people as possible and profit off of them. There is even a name for it: voluntourism. And for example in your case offering a prize to bring people help perform adaptive sports is one thing, but taking children from their homes and putting them in orphanages, labelling them as orphans so that more volunteers come to "help" them and making all of this a business is another thing. I did not talk about these things in the story, but that's what I had in mind.

I love the idea of volunteering, it is nothing but a good deed...I do not like what it became in certain places though.
